At Hive Security Solutions, our team brings a unique blend of real-world experience shaped by decades of service in law enforcement, the military, and private sector consulting. We've worked the front lines, led investigations, trained teams, and advised organizations on how to prepare for and respond to high-risk situations. From global deployments and tactical operations to community-based safety planning, our backgrounds are diverse but united by a shared mission: helping others stay safe through practical, informed, and proactive strategies.

What follows are the people behind the mission—each bringing a distinct perspective and a deep commitment to protecting the hive. use current and former military and law enforcement professionals who have been through critical incidents and know how to survive them. They will relay stories of how they survived their encounters and life and death situations and will offer insights on how to "dig deep" to survive.

Rory L.

With over 20 years in law enforcement, I’ve served as a police officer, field training officer, Detective, firearms instructor for both pistol and rifle, Active Threat Instructor and Police Sergeant . During my time as officer and detective, I've conducted investigations and made arrests on everything from thefts, frauds, drugs, robberies, sex crimes, crimes against children, bank robberies and homicides.

My career has been built on preparing others for high-risk situations through hands-on leadership and tactical expertise. Prior to my time in law enforcement, I served in the U.S. Marine Corps and Navy, deploying to numerous countries, and completing over 200 real-world force protection missions throughout the Persian Gulf. My work has been recognized with commendations at the local, state, and federal levels for both performance and leadership.

For the past decade, I’ve taught active threat response and workplace violence prevention to federal agencies, local governments, private businesses, churches, and critical infrastructure organizations. My mission is to give people practical tools and strategies that could help them survive one of the most dangerous moments of their lives.

Kirk K.

My career has spanned over 20 years to include custody operations, patrol, K9 officer, defensive tactics instructor, investigations and supervisory responsibilities - each role sharpening my ability to assess threats, respond under pressure, and lead others through critical incidents. As an Investigations Sergeant, I've investigated and supervised major cases involving homicide, robbery, sexual assault, and active shooter threats, while also managing School Resource Officer programs to enhance campus safety.

For the past eight years, I’ve extended that expertise into the private sector - consulting with homeowners to reduce risks of burglary, identity theft, and fraud, and working with schools, churches, and businesses to deliver tailored active shooter response training. I was one of only two officers selected to design and lead this training initiative, ensuring it reflected the most current protocols and real-world scenarios.
